Info:

From the pier, a pedestrian path starts directly on the lake; from this walkway, which in some points allows you to walk suspended over the water, you can admire the lake on one side, and the gardens of the beautiful villas overlooking Lake Como on the other. Halfway between the pier and the Riva Grande, there is a metal structure that allows plants to climb and form a tunnel through which the walkway passes: in spring, with the flowers in bloom, it is absolutely not to be missed.

Proceeding towards Lecco, you reach Fiumelatte, a hamlet of Varenna, which takes its name from the river that passes there. This watercourse has two extraordinary features: it is the shortest in Italy, only 250 meters and it is also a temporary torrent, appears at the end of March and goes back to dry at the beginning of October!
The name derives from the color of water, which flows so impetuous that it looks like milk. This particular feature is due to the slope of the river bed (36 degrees) and to the brittle limestone that the torrent carries with it while dying its course.
It can be reached on foot, passing the cemetery of Varenna towards Lecco and following a path that runs along the lake.
